We begin season 2's episode 2 with Geto making and drinking tea. Geto using one sugar could just be personal taste or perhaps it's intentionally boring because he is pretending to be a character motivated by cliches. Or perhaps it's due to his curse technique. Last episode he told us how disgusting curse energy tastes imagine how much worse it would taste after tasting large amounts of sugar. Having something really sweet and then having something bitter or disgusting will enhance the bitterness or disgustingness. I think that's why Geto did not have a sweet cola like Gojo did last episode I think his whole eating and drinking habits are about the bare minimum taste to make food bearable but no more than necessary curse don't taste worse. I will pay close attention to his eating habits from now on anyone else thinks the one sugar tea scene was to intentionally elude to what I am getting at?
Potential For Growth
I don't think any of us could forget the purple hollow that Gojou in season 1 but now we get to see how it came to be. Curse energy is blue and reversal curse energy is red so Purple Hollow is a combination of curse and reverse curse energy. It's nice to see Gojo develop. I think that Geto's fight mirrors Gojo's future. During Geto's fight, his opponent assumed Geto didn't have hands. Geto was aware of his perceived weakness and used it to lure the opponent in. Although Gojo gave us some explanation of how his power works I think the main benefit in his explanation is of how he could progress. He said limitless was exhausting so he is aware of his weakness. They are aware of the bounty so I wonder if like Geto he will lure in the big fish.
I am sure everyone remembers the curse bear training from season 1. I think Gojo may have developed if not at least used the same kind of training to master his own limitless. The bear hits you the second you stop channelling curse energy and in this episode, we see Gojo does not like to be hit at all.
Geto mentioned he cannot share his sense with curses like Mei so I think this incident will incentivise him to find a way.
The Animation Is Alive
In the last episode, I read some comments on my post and also on discussions I was educated about the change in animation style as a benefit for more consistency and backgrounds. Now that I am looking for it I have to say I took a couple of double takes. This image of the water rippling and the scenery's reflection made me feel so natural about the scenery it was subtly immersive.
Another Reference
Although neither Gojo nor Geto seemed to pay little to no attention to Amanai's speech about assimilating and being assimilated to become Tensen I think it's a crucial point. Gojo wants to reject many of the old ways of the power structure and Geto although he will not admit it to himself wants to be the power structure. I think neither of them paid attention to her speech because it was completely useless to either of their ideals, and Inoue Waka.
Sorcerer Killer
Very interesting hobby and design. I have read in some discussions people expected his character to have a deeper voice but as anime, only this is my first encounter so I have no expectations. This sorcerer killer has a scar on his lip and is referred to as a sorcerer killer so clearly he is experienced. H bets on a race of six boats but does not bet against Gojo who has six eyes he takes no chances. He is very professional in every killing of Jujutsu Sorcerers and negligent in every other part of life. Whoever Megumi is and they sound like someone he should know is forgotten by him.
Even this early Gojo is the strength ceiling Geto said there was another reason other than the bounty for people coming for the girl. Maybe like in real life, they want the status of defeating Gojo.
