Why No Episode Opening Exposes Hedin
I don't know if anyone else noticed but episode 9 did not play the introduction. You could argue that it would have spoiled this episode because it shows exactly what Hestia did and why play the same scene twice. From the first time I saw this season's intro, I considered making a prediction video and or post based on it but decided not to. I think they left it out of episode 9 because of how much it would have spoiled this episode and perhaps because of what it spoils going forward.
I am gonna talk about my predictions based on the intro and then talk a fair bit more about Hedin.
Ryu Hair Is Like Measure Of Time
In the first episode of the season, Bell notes how much Ryu's hair has grown. In the opening, we can see that Ryu's hair has grown even longer. This suggests to me that Ryu has gone on some kind of a journey before she fights the Freya Familia.
Mama Mia Acts
As we know Mama Mia will go to bat for her girls, in the introduction she is not wearing gear and her weapon is a spade so she is not combat prepared my guess is that she will intervene when she can no longer see her girls and Ryu suffer. I believe she will start as a spectator and will intervene because of Ottar specifically. I do wonder if she misses Syr.
War Game Competition
Allen looks to be trying to catch or race Bell so perhaps war games do not only have to include direct combat perhaps there are other forms of competition.
Provocation
I am not sure who is walking through the fire but I think it is the Freya Familia nurse. Perhaps it's just the fire magic but she looks genuinely very angry so there must be a reason which brings us to Hedin.
Finally To Hedin
Hedin has seemed shifty for the last couple of episodes even the Freya Familia thought he was too hard on Bell. He justified it as the need to break Bell.
The reason I am paying particular attention to him is because of what the introduction does not show, it does not show who he is fighting it just shows him using his magic. He has a shadowy theme which could convey deception and he is facing the audience directly which could convey him turning on us or the Freya Familia directly.
Now I do not think he will betray Freya because you cannot lie to a god and when he said that he wanted to train Bell to Serve Freya's best interest he must have been telling the truth. In episode nine again shrouded in shadow Hedin lets Bell escape. My interpretation is that Hedin will act in what he thinks Freya's best interest is even if that means betraying her. A smart character who thinks they know better. Technically he is not lying to Freya.
What do you think about my reasoning?
