3 Ways Ore dake Level Up na Ken Episode 2 Is Better Than The Manwha

What I think The Penalty Zone Represents

In the intro, the colour used in the penalty zone to represent Sun Jinwoo before he grows is the same. His Evolved physique is represented by a darker night theme.

I do not think that is a coincidence. It's not exactly day and night it's more like sunset and night. I think the sunset represents the death of Sung the sun setting on who he was as the night theme is who he is reborn as.

What Happens In The Dungeon

Woo Jinchul is a manager of the Hunter Association surveillance team. We already know that only magical weapons can't hurt the dungeon creatures so only hunters can deal with them. So who deals with hunters that would be the association.

Bad things do happen in dungeons but it's rare to be as bad as what we witness in the last two episodes. Remember when Mr Song had a vote on whether they should continue or not? The association is good at estimating the strength of the dungeon so consequently it's rare for them to send a group to bite off more than they can chew. The double dungeon event is such an anomaly and there was no evidence of the statues.

You have to consider what could happen in dungeons stays in dungeons. Who knows what people could do in dungeons they could fake their own deaths or kill others and steal their loot. Lie about their findings the group decided to deceive the associates by omission by not telling them it was a double dungeon. There are all sorts of reasons people could lie about what happens in the dungeon.

Do You think Stress Plays A Part ?

A second awakening has to be a rare event. We got a clip of Jinwoo's awakening on a building site. A profession that would require strength. Is it possible that hunters can double awaken through stress? Is there a chance that a stressful situation like the double dungeon can induce a second awakening? What do the anime-only viewers think?

Why The Strength Stat

When I first read the Manwha I did not understand why at first he put all his stats on strength and nothing. I thought maybe some agility points so you can finish the 10 Kilometres run faster and dodge some attack. If you had been faster maybe your leg would not have been chopped off. But after seeing it in the anime again and thinking about the last episode and this one I think I understand why. Sung Jinwoo died cursing himself for being we got a montage of him being too weak to do anything before he says he will put all his ability points into strength.

Unfair On Purpose

After putting zero points on his ability stats perhaps the reason he is so confident he can run if needs be is because of the penalty zone. The very first foe he faces are goblins the weakest monsters the same monster we gave him a lot of hassle in the past. He is at a disadvantage that's kind of the point not only is he becoming stronger in terms of stats these adverse situations are making him a better fighter.

The Bag Has So A Lot Of Significance

During the fight, Jinwoo's bag is ripped off. I think this symbolises a couple of things. Firstly he won't be needing that not the way he thinks, this is not a typical dungeon so he does not even know if he will be able to get magic crystals. He has an interface that can magic things out of thin air. Secondly, you have to think about what Sung might take into a dungeon.  He nearly starved to death in a dungeon before perhaps he would have taken some provisions.

Thirdly it represents a releassing of restraint as soon as the bag is cut off Sung switches from defence to offence from trying to survive dungeons as he always had before hoping to procure what he could to trying to defeat the dungeon. He went from the hunted to the hunter he went from needing to survive to needing to win.

Discussion About Chapter 461 Of The Tales Of Demons And Gods Manua

Tales Of Demons And Gods Chapter 461 Discussion

In this Discussion, we will talk about what I can see happening in the future and the artefacts they encountered and why, my reason for Ning'er getting what she got may surprise you. You may also be interested in what I think happened to Ziyun's necklace.

We are finally here at the point at which the novel ends so there will be no chance of spoilers from anyone. We all hope that not only does the story continue but that it continues without loss in quality. Mad Snail has had a long time to think so let's hope. If you have any thoughts leave a comment below.

Everyone One's Item Is Catered To Them Even Xing'er I Think

As I suspected Lua Pao got an item that aligns with his chaos element, a chaos dragon spear he thinks that it's like it was made for him. What stood out to me was where he found it, at the mouth of a volcano. I think that perhaps the items were located in locations that suited them. What is more chaotic than a volcano that could erupt at any time where else would you find a chaos dragon spear?

Ye Ziyun found a new necklace that she suspected was left by her ancestors This is also not surprising but what is, is that she said she lost the necklace Nie Lie gave her. I think there is more to it than that she either parted ways with it willingly or had it taken from her. I think she may have given it to Ye Zong her father, remember he can attain his adult form when he cultivates high enough perhaps Ziyun want him to become the father she remembered as quickly as possible and being stronger can save his life. Any idea what happened to the necklace?

Du Ze got an azure crystal that increases cultivation speed. I don't know if anyone remembers but Du Ze has a lighting fire attribute soul realm and was the first of the group to reach silver rank.  An item that expediates cultivation speed is quite the match for him.

Xiao Ning'er getting some inner armour kind of got me by surprise it doesn't seem to align with her affinity in this lifetime. We know that in the previous version of events, Ning'er wore a permanent mask on her face. So perhaps the armour is this timeline homage. In the past, she was protecting her identity but with the relationship with Nie Lie in this lifetime perhaps the under armour is about protecting her heart. Or maybe the writer is just looking for an excuse for Nie Lie to take a look, do you think I am nowhere near the mark with this one?

Nie Lie Will Surpass His Limits
Although the Temporal Demon book is incredibly powerful it does have its limits. It can only accommodate 10 people at once so it cannot be used to move the residents of Glory city. Also only so many can train at once. Nie Lie lost in his previous life even with it. I think they will spend decades cultivating.
In this life I think Nie Lie's comprehension of space-time is better he seemed to have increased it when he broke the space-time barrier so perhaps he may discover hidden use for the book he never had before.
Do you think he gain new abilities with the book?

As we know Nie Lie is old. When interacting with Ziyun he has said she is not like in the previous lifetime however the book will allow for us to see Ziyun mature into a woman faster. Perhaps after they emerge she will be more comfortable with the more adult side of their relationship.
when comfortable sexually b4c end

Duan Jian Is Still Not A Demons Spiritualist
I don't think Nie Lie kept his promise of giving Duan a dragon demon beast yet so I think he will do so soon as we have seen demon spiritualists cultivate with their demons. After getting has ass handed to him by the old man I am sure he will be hungry for an upgrade and Nie Lie to upgrade his muscle. Duan is not technically a demon spiritulist yet he is still a demon fighter.
When do you think he will get a get demon beast?

Overall I am optimistic about this going forward if you want add anything  to the 461 discussion leave a comment below.

Ore dake Level Up na Ken Episode 2 Discussion

Ore dake Level Up na Ken Episode 2 Discussion

In this Ore dake Level Up na Ken or Solo leveling discussion we will talk about some religious themes you may not have noticed, character details and what you would do if  faced with the decision of staying or going. Leave a comment at the bottom it helps me create content and you will be alerted when I respond.

The intro is fire and it reveals how far in the Manwha we will go. The episode count for the first season of Ore Dake Level Up Na Ken is 12 or Solo leveling is 12 episodes. To give some estimates episodes 1 and 2 cover the first 10 chapters of The Manwha by that estimate the whole season should be around 50-60 chapters which was way more than I thought we'd get.

For those who read the Manwha we are going to see a fan favourite. The animation is fluid and the song's lyrics are a clear match for Sung Jinwoo and the theme of Ore Dake Level Up Na.

Some of the lyrics,  "pray for what you get a way to get respect".

Subtle Religious Themes I Noticed

In the Manwha we get an image that the anime did not show us and that image is Sung Jinwoo holding onto this purpled thread of fate as he faces death in the covered chapters. In greek mythology there is something called the thread of life and when it is cut the person who the thread belongs to dies.

In the anime intro we see this purple thread, I think it represents Jinwoo's thread of life.

What do you think?

The second is something I noticed when I read The Manwha but never had the opportunity to express. The fire lamps and alter, the whole thing looks like some kind of a ritual and rituals often require sacrifices. Based on the blood and the Altar the first time I saw it in the Manwha I thought it looked like a summoning ritual.

I mentioned a threads of fate earlier are there any other religious themes that I missed that you noticed?

A Clue About Mr Song

Mr Song has some knowledge of pressure points based on the way he knocked Lee Joohee, interesting for a mage to have skills unrelated to their ability to hunt. This is a subtle clue about his character.

Why Sung Jinwoo Is The Strongest

I want you to think about how everyone behaved in this situation. When Sung Jinwoo was standing up Mr Song started telling him to stop until he saw the look in his eyes and realised he had not given up on surviving. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Naruto, but in the early episode, they come face to face with a powerful enemy named Zabuza. We hear the dialogue inside of Sasuke a main character's head, he is so overcome by fear he is thinking about ending his own life to escape. Mr Song mentioned he had been to higher rank dungeons so he has seen how people act when they are faced with powerful foes and fear death. I think his first thought was that Jinwoo was standing to intentionally get himself killed.

Look at how everyone behaved when faced with death for the first time. Sung Jinwoo is so weak has been facing death on even the weakest dungeons. Even his last moments were brave he is the type who can stand up to things stronger than himself.

Sung may be the weakest hunter but he is not the weakest person.  He never looked to pass blame when everyone was blaming Mr Song, he was the first to say that was the last thing they should be doing. Sung kept focusing on surviving while others were playing the blame game.

Would You Have Left?

There were six orange flames when they approached the altar with six also being the number of the devil perhaps simply because there were six of them left. Sung theorised that when all of the blue flames went out they could leave, there were twenty-four blue flames. So anime only viewers do you believe that if they let the blue flames go out they could have all left and would you have stayed to find out?

3 Ways Solo Leveling Episode 2 Surpassed The Mawha

3 Ways Episode 2 Surpassed The Mawha

System Visuals

The system looks better than in the Manwha it never occurred to me that the system could look better until someone mentioned it in response to a Reddit post.

Eye Beams

I remember reading this but in my opinion, the anime did a better job of showing how fast those eye beams are it also has better visuals of the smoking eyes. And even though the art is amazing I think the smoking eyes look better in the anime and more natural.

The  Pacing

The low episode count for at least the first season of Solo Leveling bothered me and it still does. However, after going back to the Manwha to check a few things I realised we are 10 chapters in as of the end of episode 2. We are even getting more details. When I started the Manwha season 1 had finished and I was reading comments from rereaders. In hindsight considering we are only getting one episode a week and many anime first-timers are not giving it a chance I think the pacing in the anime so far is better.

Is there anything episode 2 did better than the Manwha in your opinion?

Tales Of Demons And Gods Chapter 460 Discussion

Tales Of Demons And Gods Chapter 460 Discussion

We are approaching uncharted territory and these chapters are getting shorter. I hope the author is not running out of content and from a financial point of view there is plenty of incentive for Mad Snail to continue.

This has created an opportunity to ask questions that no one has but the author has answers to. Nie Lie described space-time as the most mysterious so hardly anyone knows a lot about it the information is rare.

Here Are Some Questions You May Have Thoughts On

Now that Nie Lie has the temporal demon spirit book I would like to see how it functions with the pages he already has. I think Nie Lie will cultivate the inside of the book as he did in his past lifetime but what else? Will the pages simply join the book? Will the book help him find all the other pages? We have seen him use just the pages so what can he do with the whole book?

Will others they all cultivate inside of the book and will anyone else be able to gain memories of their past life?

Dressed The Part

Went off as I said in an earlier discussion I think they will find artefacts that align with their cultivation so a Snow Wind type for  Ziyun. As a side note I think the girls white attire is symbolic of them being Nie Lie's brides.

Why Nie lie Passed Out Twice

I am not entirely sure what happened.  Around chapter 289 when Nie Lie first went back to where he found the Temporal Demon book in his past life he passed out after displaying a similar headache to the one he had in this chapter. Was the palace a place that appears in the mind, it's there but it's not? Did Yua's help stop Nie Lie from passing out again and why did that not happen to him in his last life?

Here is why I believe he passed out this chapter and the last time he was in the desert. Ning'er has clear memories of her past life but she has but she was not as powerful or long-lived as Nie Lie. I think Nie Lie is being overwhelmed by his past life when wayed against his current cultivation. Perhaps the goddess's healing helped him because of my theory.

Deer Design

The deer design seemed pretty generic,  to highlight they are space-time dear the Manua did a serious job showing them moving through space at will. If not how would we know theory design is so generic?

I think the symbols on their bodies and eyes are the runes for space-time similar to Yua's fire symbol on her head.

Let's Journey Into Uncharted Territory Together
Nie Lie passed through the statues of the gods in both lives but in his second he has context. Not only were the deers trapped in the barrier but so was the temporal demon spirit book.  With so little known about space-time not many could do this probably the work of the Spacetime god. From the image, Nie Lie walks through the battle with the two opposing factions but he is in the middle. I think this is by design as it means that as neither a god nor a demon he can choose a side.  And he is so powerful his choices will affect fate.

What are your thoughts discuss anything of interest in the comments and I will get back to you.

Solo Leveling Episode 1 Discussion

Usually, when I discuss an anime I go into it blind but like so many of you I have read the manhwa. There will be no major spoilers in this discussion although I will mention some of the changes the anime has made and certain minor details about the characters like their rank the anime may not have mentioned. Attention Anime Only Readers

Even though many of us are coming from the manhwa some are going into this bling and probably thinking what's the hype. To those people I understand but I will tell you to give it 2-5 episodes and if the anime does it justice your concerns will be alleviated.

Artistic Integrity

My first concern going into episode 1 was the animation quality for anyone familiar with the manhwa one of Solo Leveling's high points in the manhwa is the artistic design the visuals are spectacular. So far  I am pleased with the animation quality, it's not at the Fate series level but it's good.  Is anyone disappointed?

My Concern With The Changes

There are a lot of changes made which is surprising but welcome. However, they seem unnecessary to the plot when compared to the manhwa at the same point. We will see how they affect the way things play out.

I think the animators are more than aware of how popular the manhwa is and are giving something new to the readers. I do have slight pacing concerns but not for the reasons you may think. I worry they are trying to extend the length of each episode with added scenes because they are trying to milk a small number of chapters for all they are worth. I have checked the episode count it would appear the most likely episode count is just twelve episodes.

If anyone knows please correct me if I am wrong I would love at least 25.

Who Would Become A Hunter

Cha hae-in's introduction seems forced she just happens to be there to stop a robbery. The flip side is we get to see what kind of a person she is. She chose to help that person when there was no profit and only unwanted attention. In the solo levelling world in which hunters are the world's super and economic power will they all act virtuously.

As the first episode mentioned hunters cannot get stronger so what motivates them, we know money is a major one as the hunter with a second child stated. But what about others in the meeting, we heard that you do not have to become a hunter just because you are awakened. If it is not money like with Sung Jinwoo what type of characters would be attracted to the life and perks of being a hunter? Those who can become hunters are random you have to ask if are they all law-abiding denizens of the earth are they sane?

Side note I learned the word denizens from a solo leveling chapter so now seemed an appropriate time to use it.

Early S Rank Introductions And Apocalypse

In the manhwa, we do not see the red ants and S ranks in action for a while.  The revealing of a certain hunter's beast mode was premature in my opinion. In the manhwa, we know he has that side to him but we don't get to see it for a while.

Interestingly we got a contrast between the power ceiling we never got in the manhwa. Sung Jinwoo is weak compared to every other hunter this was made clear in the episode and Manhwa. In the anime however, we get to see an S-rank fire user and healer contrasted against a B-rank healer and C-rank fire user. The differences in strength, fame and money are glaring sung Jinwoo is struggling to get by. If you were strong enough to make a lot of money would you continue going into dungeons when you already had enough money for several lifetimes?

The apocalypse line from the 90s X men TAS springs to mind called a mutant. "I am as far beyond Mutants as they are beyond you."

To All Concerned All

Now one thing I think was portrayed better is the brutality of the violence.  There is a moment where an ant steps on a hunter's hand that is close to his sword. This could be indicative of the ant's intelligence, it could be smart enough to know what the hunter may go for they even added a sound effect for full effect. They want the watcher to be aware of these dungeon creature's intelligence.

To the Anime newbies will you stick with more episodes?

To the mahwa viewers did there anything you preferred in episode 1 compared to its counterpart?

Tales Of Demons And Gods Chapter 459 Discussion

Welcome to a discussion about Tales of Demons and Gods chapter 459. I will go over a few talking points from Yu Yan's surprising look to which divine items will pair with whom to name a couple. If you enjoy the post respond in the comments to anything that suits your fancy. Please no LN spoilers.

To start off with if you did not read the last chapter's discussion check it out because then you will understand why my new theme song is Hammer Time, because I nailed it.

Is This New Information To Goddess Yu Yan?

Yua Yan said she could see through mortals but not Nie Lie so the look she gave him caught my eye. She looks like she does not believe when he says he thinks the key to obtaining a divine artefact is a straightforward and pure heart, she repeats his words in his head. Are Nie Lie's words new information to her or maybe she is wondering about Nie Lie's heart as she cannot see through it? Nie Lie is dishonest but his heart is always in the right place. In the last chapter, Nie Lie tricked the old man and me so it's interesting that he would mention a pure heart because most people would think of a pure heart as an honest one. Perhaps that is why Yu Yan is thinking about his words.

What are your thoughts?

How Divine Items May Select

Shout Out To The DBZ flying. Nie Lie wanted Duan Jian to forgive the Silver Wing patriarch because his cultivation would suffer as a result of heart demons. Perhaps these themes are connected?

Nie Lie has no attribute for his soul realm, maybe the artefacts the others find will be influenced by their attributes. Perhaps the Book of Space and Time chose Nhim because had no attributes. For example, perhaps a chaos attribute divine item will be a match for Luo Piao on account of his chaos attribute soul realm.

It's Almost As If The Divine Items Have Been Waiting For Them

A few chapters back we got information as to limits set upon the tiny world. Brother Blackhell's dragon was hit by divine lightning after breaking through to the heavenly fate realm. Not only do the Tiny World laws prevent it from being invaded but they also protect the artefacts from anyone strong enough to break the barriers by a long shot, its deity level. Almost as if it was set up to only fall into the hands of a specific lot.

The old man is very strong but I am not sure if he is originally from the tiny world he. Do the rules only strike down those who were not originally from the tiny world or anyone? Did that influence the old man's decision to leave the Abyss other than Nie Lie?

We are left on a cliff hanger we only know for sure that the divine item Nie Lie has found is of the Space-Time variety. It's either the book or something related. If anyone has any other guesses I will be very surprised but welcome to speculation.

If you found anything interesting join the Chapter 459 discussion below in the comment section.

Discuss Tales Of Demons And Gods Chapter 458

Here are some talking points discussed here, how the old man stayed sane, Nie Lie's new law and Duan Jian's beating is not as bad as you thought.

Comment At Bottom

Please no spoilers in the comments if you enjoy this type of content it is free and you do not have to sign up. I will respond to your thoughts.

Nie Lie New Law Foreshadowing

Ni Lie's smooth-talking saves him once again. He sucked me in I believed he knew which law Emperor Ming had grasped because the idea of it being life and death made sense.

No wonder he spent so much time in the temporal book,  he must have gotten used to dealing with those much more powerful than himself. I liked Ni Lie's quote about the honest dying quickly it sounds like the Asian equivalent of the good die young.

If memory serves Ni Li was able to comprehend light darkness and death. After it was mentioned it occurred to me that Ni li would have no problem grasping the law of time and it would make the most sense. I think he will gain an understanding of the laws of time and space, eventually. Perhaps because of the Temporal Demon Spirit Book and the knowledge he acquired in this life or perhaps as an alternative.

Does anyone else believes so and if not would you like to see it?

Duan Jian Is No Match

He did get the smackdown however to my knowledge he has no demon spirit yet so with one perhaps he would have put up a better fight. I had a minor scare when I saw this chapter I thought the dirt on Duan Juan's wings were holes, Am I the only one?

Method To Old Mans Madness

We knew the old man was way stronger than Nie Lie but to this extent is crazy.

I think I understand why he was constantly mumbling Emperor Mong's words "Infinity has no beginning no beginning can have no end." One way to interpret the words is that everything is meaningless. You are born you cultivate and die and reincarnate to do the same thing what's the point? Asking if a lifetime's worth of cultivation was worth the loss of loved ones coming from Nie Lie has real meaning.

Without anyone left it's aimless. If you had lost even your brother killing other inheritors because of those words they would be all you had. You would cling to them to the point of insanity because to let go of them and realise you have nothing without them really would be a way to lose your mind. All this time his mumbling seemed crazy but it was the only thing keeping him together for 300 years. At least that's my view what's yours?
